In the cloud, it’s easy to do things fast. It’s another thing entirely to do them well.
As the founder of Cloudbutton, Darren’s focus is to help small businesses leverage AWS technologies in a way that adheres to the well architected principles that are foundational to managing a cloud infrastructure successfully.
Some of the areas where Darren can provide support on your cloud journey: Education: Ensure you and your busy IT staff and developers understand the complexities and nuances of AWS cloud services in a personalized, lightning format. Well architected Reviews: Have a trained eye review your existing environment to help close the loop on improper configurations that are putting your business at risk and resulting in overspend. Re-factoring guidance for applications that need to leverage cloud services. Solution Architecture: From AWS network design down to optimization of database schemas. Landing Zones: Start designing your AWS infrastructure with best practices in place from the beginning. Infrastructure as code: Design and deploy all AWS resources in a repeatable way: Build once, deploy many times. Containerization: Build and deploy containers via docker and ECS for a seamless integration with AWS services. CI/CD: Set your development teams up for success with native cloud integration and delivery pipelines. Serverless: Start building out microservices using Lambda/API gateway to maximize cost savings, minimize blast radius, and accelerate your innovation.
With a career spanning more than 20 years in technology, Darren found his way into the cloud via database administration, Business Intelligence solutioning and IT management for numerous fast-paced startups. Working with AWS technologies since 2011, he has followed the arc of cloud adoption of many IT professionals: He's not ashamed to admit to his initial terror and anxiety when first exposed to cloud technologies, that then transformed into a lucid understanding that adopting infrastructure as code, well architected frameworks, and serverless application models was not an option, but rather a foregone conclusion for staying relevant in IT.
